Drinks were good, but the food was only okay. The short ribs were pan-seared and extremely dry, and the chicken breast was also very dry, as if it had been cooked hours earlier and reheated before serving. Seeing other tables, the small plates might have been a better choice. The noise level was high.

“Terrific”

I hosted a dinner party at Luxe last night and had a fantastic time, as did all my guests. The food and drinks were excellent, but the staff stood out the most. My party was extremely disorganized through no fault of my own, yet the Luxe team handled our confusion with grace and smiles, which really impressed me. We were there for less than three hours, and everyone had a great time. Though I'm new to the neighborhood, I plan to return to Luxe and recommend it to anyone who hasn't tried it yet.

“Fantastic!”

This is an excellent spot for drinks, and the food is tasty too. I visited for the Cleveland State Theatre banquet, and both the food and drinks were simply divine. The atmosphere has an upscale, bohemian vibe, and I highly recommend it. I'm eager to go back.

“when it finally up and comes is anyones guess”

There's the familiar joke about a gentrifying ghetto that's been up-and-coming for a decade, so when it finally arrives is anyone's guess. That's how I see Detroit Shoreway. Drive away from Gordon Square and you're not in a comfortable area anymore. Whether Luxe can survive here is also uncertain.

“Luxe is fabulous”

Luxe is my top pick for dining. The food is incredible, the service is flawless, and their martinis are the finest in the city. They also have a very cool outdoor patio.
