Kerbey Lane Cafe - South
Breakfast · Sunday Brunch · Austin, TX
About
This spot draws a mix of late-night stragglers and early birds, with a funky, welcoming vibe that keeps regulars coming back. A reviewer who first visited the north location describes the pancakes as ‘massive… at least the size of a dinner plate and served in multiples.’ The coffee gets high marks too, even from a self-described coffee snob from New Orleans. The south location keeps the same down-to-earth energy, with a staff that's ‘never to busy to smile.’
Kerbey Lane Cafe serves breakfast and brunch classics with local Tex-Mex influences. Friday and Saturday hours run overnight (12am to 12am), making it a solid choice after a night out. If you're craving more local flavor, Bouldin Creek Cofffeehouse is another neighborhood favorite for plant-based eats and coffee.

“Bland”
The food lacked flavor and the service was indifferent. I won't return.

The bathroom had a Dyson Airblade hand dryer. That was great.

“Home away from Home”
This is a really wonderful restaurant with friendly staff who always make time to smile or refill your coffee cup. When I first relocated to this city, I lived across from the north location of Kerbey Lane. I became fond of their enormous pancakes, which are at least dinner-plate sized and come in stacks, so my 3 a.m. meal would hold me over for the whole day. When I had trouble sleeping, I drank endless cups of coffee for the price of just one. The place was always packed, and the food was consistently excellent. Now that I live in the south part of the city, I still go to Kerbey Lane Cafe at any hour for my big meal and their great coffee. Coming from New Orleans, I know good coffee, and Kerbey Lane does it right, from the food choices to the final sip of coffee.
