The shelves overflow with curated used books on nearly every subject, plus ephemera, Southwest authors, and rare literary journals. It's family-friendly and mixed-gay-straight, with a budget-friendly price point. Dog-friendly too.
Staff are known for their enthusiasm and help tracking down specific titles. The trade credit is better than the cash rate, so plan to swap books. Weekday hours are 10am-6pm, with extended hours on Friday and Saturday until 7pm. A local institution that outlasted a forced move in 2014, now settled in the Mountain Run Shopping Center.

“Largest Independent Book Seller in Albuquerque”
Page 1 is unmatched! Their shelves are packed with a huge collection of secondhand books covering nearly every topic. It's easily the top independent bookstore in the city, offering unusual stock like ephemera, regional authors, and scarce literary magazines. The sheer range and quantity of books compete with and surpass big chains like Barnes & Noble and Borders. They still give cash for books, but the trade credit is a better deal since the cash offer is very low.
