About
Unlike most museums, San Antonio Museum of Art is housed in a historic brewery along the Museum Reach of the Riverwalk. Its permanent collections cover Egyptian, Greek and Roman antiquities, Asian art, Latin American art, contemporary art, and American paintings. It's one of the few museums in the city with such breadth across both ancient and modern works.
Bexar County residents get free general admission every Tuesday 4-9 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Tuesday and Friday hours extend until 7 p.m., making those good days for an after-work visit. The Museum also offers free WiFi and a variety of programs. It's a short walk to the contemporary gallery ArtPace for a full afternoon of art.
