“karaoke night”

Came for Saturday karaoke; bartenders were unfriendly and the atmosphere was unwelcoming. Just felt like being there, nothing more.

IBT's functions as a late-night spot for the 4th Ave bar scene. The crowd doesn't pick up until around 11 PM to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. The mix of men and women is fairly even, mostly in their 20s and 30s, typically college students. There is a $3 cover on Saturdays unless you arrive before 10 PM. The venue has two indoor rooms (one for the bar, one for dancing) plus an outdoor dance floor and bar. The restrooms are quite inadequate. Staff are friendly and attractive.

“Too many women!”

I visited IBT's once last summer in 2009. I had heard it was rated the best bar in Tucson, but after trying a few others, I was glad I did. Some of the guys were quite attractive, it was around midnight, and the place was very crowded. It's a good option if you're bisexual, bicurious, or straight-curious, but it wasn't for me. The music was decent, my draft beer was lukewarm, and a bartender named Blake was friendly and very hot. I had a good time for about an hour, but had more fun at other bars. Definitely a mixed crowd, and it felt like it was becoming more heterosexualized.
