Planter's Tavern at Pink House

American · Pizza · Savannah, GA

About

Fireplaces crackle on both sides of this cozy piano bar, and the couches are deep enough to sink into for hours. Jazz piano fills the room most nights, while the river glitters through the windows just off River Street.

It can get packed on a Friday night, and the low light makes it hard to spot who's there. But that's part of the appeal — a quiet, dark spot where conversation and cocktails are the main event. If you're hungry, the kitchen serves American fare, pizza, seafood, and Cajun-Creole dishes.

It's on River Street in Savannah's historic district, near E Bryan St and a short walk from other bars.

From the community

“fabulous, but not gay!”

It was extremely packed on a Friday evening, which was fun, but I didn't notice any openly gay behavior or see other queer people around. I know they must be there somewhere, but it's so dim inside that I couldn't spot them.
