About
Walk into Bobby Love's and the flamboyant decor and buzzing karaoke stage hit you first. Strong cocktails and a mixed gay-straight crowd keep the energy up, with bears and 20-to-30-somethings making up the regulars. The bar stays open until 2am most nights, 3am on Saturdays.
In summer, the front french doors swing open, creating a lively patio-like space. Drinks run $7-$10 depending on the bartender, a fact regulars take in stride. This is a spot built for belting out tunes and letting loose.
Located in Chicago's Northalsted neighborhood, the historic gayborhood lined with bars, clubs, and restaurants.

“fun neighborhood bar”
Affordable daily drink specials, friendly bartenders, and a down-to-earth vibe. They even give out free chips at the bar. It reminds me of how bars used to be 20 or more years ago.

“Not sure what to think”
At first, the crowd seemed pretty welcoming when we walked into the bar. But the bartender made us wait at least a minute while he finished chatting with another customer before taking our order. Then our rum and Diet Coke and Seagram's 7 and 7 came to $16, which felt like a rip-off and made us feel like we were the bar's joke, especially since we're not from around there. The clientele also seemed pretty low-class.

“Great Place”
I always enjoy spending time at this bar. The bartenders are friendly, and the customers are nice without any attitude. The front area, with French doors opened in the summer, is the best spot to hang out.

“Had a nice time hear”
As a visitor from the UK, I felt very welcome. The staff and other customers were incredibly friendly. I had four Long Island Iced Teas. The price jumped from $7 to $10 when the bartenders changed shifts, which I didn't understand, but by then I was pretty tipsy.

“Another Neighborhood Bar..”
I have no complaints about the staff; they treated me fairly. Drink prices were fair and the alcohol wasn't watered down. If you get bored, you can always go to the place next door.
