Davenport's Piano Bar and Cabaret
Piano Bar · Karaoke · Chicago, IL
About
If you want a night of sing-along, comedy, and strong drinks, this upscale piano lounge in Wicker Park delivers. Davenport's has been booking local and national talent since 1998, and the staff themselves often treat guests to a song between rounds.
Friday and Saturday feature George & Daryl's interactive crowd-pleasing shows, while Friday also includes karaoke hosted by Alma Mendoza. The back room rotates in cabaret acts. Drinks run a bit high but are poured strong. Seating is mostly at tables, with no booths, so expect a snug, lively room with a mix of 20-somethings through 50-somethings.
Located in Chicago's Wicker Park neighborhood, known for its artsy vibe and lively nightlife scene.

“PIANO BAR ALMOST HEAVEN”
The Nitz and Howe show is now only on Saturdays but is essential for comedy, sing-alongs, and clean dirty fun. The back room consistently features great talent. Drinks are a bit pricey but strong. Dan the bartender and Heather work very hard and also sing. My only wish is for booths or more comfortable seating.

“Rip Off”
I flew in from New York City to see my boyfriend, spent $35 on a cab, and drank for 1.5 hours waiting for a piano player, not told he was doing a private show in the back. The heavy barmaid kept saying '15 minutes' and 'want another drink' -- skip this place.

“Friday & Saturday Shows GREAT”
I've been a few times on Friday and Saturday nights to see the show in the Piano Bar/Lounge. George and Daryl perform on those nights, and you won't find another crowd-pleasing interactive show like this anywhere. Lately, there's also karaoke on Friday with Alma Mendoza. Well worth the trip even if it's out of your way, and the entire staff sings too. Great place.

“Laid back and full of style”
It might be a bit out of the way if you're traveling from the north side of Chicago, but it's worth the trip. The crowd from that area is cool, and the shows in back are usually fantastic. It's a good mix of all kinds of people, and the owners are great.
