Most gay bars in Chicago cluster in Lakeview, but Jeffery Pub stakes its own ground on the South Side. Open since the 1960s, it's the city's oldest surviving gay bar and still draws a diverse crowd of regulars.
The unassuming exterior hides a proper dive bar with a dance floor, karaoke stage, and drag shows on the calendar. Hours run late: Saturday goes until 5am, making this a genuine after-hours option. If you're barhopping, Sidetrack in Lakeview is a very different scene but worth the trip north.
Located on Chicago's South Side, far from the usual Northalsted gay bar strip.

I absolutely loved it! It's wild and crazy and totally over the top. I'll definitely go back - it's my new favorite place!
