About

You might expect a martini bar to be stuffy, but Marty's Martini Bar keeps things relaxed and convivial. This French-inspired lounge draws a mixed gay and straight after-work crowd, with a bartending staff that stays professional even when the small space fills up fast. The martinis are excellent, and the wine and spirit selection is solid.

Early evening is the sweet spot if you prefer chatting with regulars over the weekend rush. The moody romantic lighting and outdoor seating add to the appeal. Andersonville is the setting, putting you near other local spots like Replay Andersonville if you want to keep the night going.

Located in Andersonville, a neighborhood known for its independent businesses and LGBTQ+ friendly atmosphere, distinct from the busier Boystown area.

“small martini bar”

Great martinis, though the space is tiny and gets crowded fast on weekends. I really appreciate Andersonville's independent shops. Boystown had that same vibe two and a half decades ago. Not happy about the Starbucks opening in this area.

Potent martinis, friendly team, a varied crowd, and a pleasant patio out back.

“The Gay Cheers”

I've been a regular at Marty's for years and have gotten to know the team. It's a small spot so it gets crowded quickly, but the staff stays calm and professional no matter how busy it gets, always trying to find you a seat or a spot out of the way. The martinis are top-notch and they have a wide range of liquors and wines. I prefer going early when it's mostly regulars because later in the evening it gets really packed.
