About

What sets Meeting House Tavern apart is that it's a pub-games-and-drag-show hybrid, brought to you by the same crew behind Jackhammer and 2Bears Tavern. Free board games and bar games are always on hand across two floors, and the crowd is a genuine mix of bears, twinks, daddies, and everyone in between. The Tuesday Big Gay Gameshow hosted by Sofonda Booz turns trivia on its head, and the vibe stays playful all week.

Happy hour runs daily with strong drink specials, and the tavern is trans-friendly, family-friendly, and budget-friendly. Summer brings open windows that lighten the whole space. It's an after-work hangout that doubles as a karaoke or cabaret spot depending on the night.

Located in Chicago's Andersonville neighborhood, a historic LGBTQ+ hub with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby.

Meeting House is a go-to when I'm in Andersonville. The daily drink deals are unbeatable, and both floors offer plenty of room to hang out. Tuesdays are especially great because Sofonda Booz hosts the Big Gay Gameshow, a more fun version of trivia. In summer, they open the windows wide and it completely changes the atmosphere. Plus, the bartenders are cute, the crowd is fun, happy hour is excellent, and the drinks are strong.
