“Ita great”
This is an excellent spot for chatting and having a good time, with a diverse mix of people. It's one of my favorites.

“Ok place, scary scary neighborhood! Omg!”
The place wasn't busy and felt oddly silent. The crowd was mostly older, with some younger loud people scattered around. It could be nice, but there were homeless people begging by our car. They need to address that. Hopefully it improves.

“Upscale Dive is Perfect”
I love J's. It's great for beginning a night out or for a chill, low-key late evening. Don't pay attention to the negative gossip reviews. People who try to create conflict between bars hurt the whole community.

“Ugh!”
I avoid big bars because I like to have real conversations and hear the people I'm with. I went to J's for a while after trying Rain (which was overhyped, pricey, and had no performance) and The Store (mostly women and rude). The older gray-haired owner was incredibly rude to our group. He seemed unwilling to serve us because he was busy with his regulars. We were a group of six and there wasn't a table where we could all sit together, which was the least of our problems, though we did get yelled at for moving a table to fit everyone. We each had two drinks (on my credit card bill), so that's twelve total. When I went to sign the receipt it was $90.00 and clearly inflated. I had heard about this at J's before but ignored the warnings. I shouldn't have. When I complained and asked for the itemized bill, the owner said I was disrupting his business and told me to lower my voice, sign the bill, and leave. Beware—if you go, ask about prices and keep track of your own tab so you have proof, and don't use a credit card.
