Splash is a great spot to be noticed and show off; it was the first place I visited after coming out. The venue has bars on two levels, a dance floor, and a balcony that looks over the floor. Being near Louisiana State University, it tends to have an attractive crowd. - Great music - Cute bartenders - Easy parking - Fun atmosphere

“This Is It”
Anyone who has spent time in Baton Rouge has likely heard of this place since it's pretty much the main gay club around. To be honest, Splash isn't bad at all and could compete in a much bigger city in my opinion. It's one of the largest clubs I've visited, and the bartenders are quite friendly. They occasionally bring free drinks around, which is unusual. Generally, the staff goes out of their way to make sure patrons have fun. Some people say the crowd is cliquish, and that's true, but that's typical for Baton Rouge overall, not just this venue. You can usually find some adventurous people, though. One issue is that some of the alcohol seems questionable, so stick with bottled beer or drinks that can't be tampered with. The free drinks are fine, probably to lure customers. Overall, it's a decent place, and in a city where locals aren't always welcoming, it's easy to love.

My friends and I had a fun time celebrating my 50th birthday. We knew going in that the crowd would be young. The venue and staff were great. I would return.

Yes, you have to go around midnight... there are a couple of other gay bars in Baton Rouge... one is called Candiez and another is The House of Diamonds... that's where you'll find more urban music playing...

“You have to show up here at 12”
I worked in Baton Rouge for three months looking for the ideal spot to drink and flirt. This place was excellent, and I found it just before leaving. It's very fast-paced with a huge dance floor, and the crowd was quite friendly. My only complaint was a cocky shot server who came over and started flirting with a female client I was with. None of us were interested initially, and we were even less so after I asked him to leave. I had a great time, but the crowd was sparse until later.
