This spot welcomes you with pool tables, dart boards, and a jukebox. HALO Bar & Lounge, formerly Hayloft Saloon, is a revitalized queer bar on Detroit's west side. The new owner has made improvements, drawing a laid-back crowd of locals and bears. Drinks are strong and the vibe stays low key.

The large outdoor patio offers a place to melt away from the action. Karaoke happens twice a week with an excellent sound system. Go-go boys and themed nights add sultry energy on weekends.

Located in Warrendale, on Detroit's west side, it's the only queer bar in that area.

This place is amazing! The new owner has made many upgrades. It's great to finally have a good queer bar on this side of the city. The bartenders are very welcoming. My friend and I enjoy karaoke, and this bar has the best sound system for it, now offered twice a week which is even better. There's a nice outdoor patio and plenty of parking. Fun weekend events. Highlights: awesome music, attractive bartenders, fun crowd, great happy hour, strong drinks, low-key vibe.

“So so”

The jukebox never plays your selections and there's an ant problem. The last bartender would delete your songs if he didn't like them, which is a great way to annoy paying customers.

If you want to meet down-to-earth people without attitude, this is the spot. It's a nice neighborhood bar with a patio.

“worth a visit”

Decent-sized bar with friendly bartenders. Has a pool table, dart boards, jukebox, televisions, and video machines. The patio is large but has a lot of unused space. The atmosphere was relaxed on the Thursday night I visited, with a decent-looking but quiet crowd.
