“Country Western? Why?”

Charlie's is a decent bar. The bartenders are attractive, friendly, and make good drinks. Prices are very reasonable. Almost every night has a theme, so there is something for many tastes. They also have an underwear night, which might be common in Las Vegas but is unusual elsewhere. However, I don't understand why they call themselves a country/western bar. No customers wear cowboy gear, and the music is typical gay dance club stuff. Go, have fun, enjoy the diverse crowd. But country/western? I just don't see it.

The place is quite large and still has a local bar vibe. The music was excellent, and the drink prices were reasonable.

“Went to Leather Church on 3/13”

I arrived wearing my leather and immediately tried to get a drink, but the rude bartender, a scruffy guy with glasses wearing a harness over his t-shirt, made it clear he didn't like me. He deliberately ignored me while serving everyone around me, not even making eye contact, even though I hadn't given him any attitude. This pissed me off. The other bartender, Barry, had to come from the far end to serve me. When I told Barry what happened, he didn't seem to care. It's basic customer service; that bartender looked like he hated his job and anyone who isn't a bear. This has happened to me twice at this bar with different bartenders, the last time with a big bear type. I feel discriminated against for not being a bear, and if it's because I'm Latino, that's a huge problem. Those bartenders aren't practicing the equality that gay people demand from others. It's sad that this hate exists within our own community, and we still expect heterosexuals to tolerate us when we can't tolerate each other. Shameful.

“Tacky disappointment with a side of heartburn”

This place is a joke. It charges a $60 cover for out-of-towners, so we came inside. It's way too loud, tries too hard to be a booth dance bar, has no strippers or go-go dancers, and the drinks are weak and sugary. I hate this town.
