The Phoenix Bar & Lounge
American · European · Las Vegas, NV
About
A massive phoenix mural guards the front door, but inside this locally owned gay bar is pure playfulness. The open floor plan wraps a rectangular bar, a kitchen in back, and seating in the middle. One corner has people playing video games on a projection TV, while others play pool or sing karaoke. It's a casual, mixed crowd of 20-somethings and locals, with strong drinks and a kitchen serving burgers and sandwiches.
Hours are 24/7, confirmed on Yelp. The video poker at the bar is popular. Check their Facebook for nightly events and specials. The vibe stays easygoing and moody, with a dash of Vegas glam.
Located in Las Vegas's West Sahara area, a short drive from the Strip and other LGBTQ+ venues.

This was one of the best gay bars I visited in Las Vegas. The layout is open, with a rectangular bar on one side, a kitchen in the back, and additional seating in the middle. One corner has a video game area. The bartenders were friendly and attentive. Drinks were strong and fairly priced. Check their Facebook page for daily specials and events. They also serve good food and have excellent marketing. The video poker at the bar is popular and a fun way to kill time. Highlights include great music, attractive bartenders, easy parking, a lively crowd, a good happy hour, and strong drinks.

“Kid stuff”
Based on the imposing front door with its fierce phoenix paint job, I expected this bar to have at least some masculine vibe. It does not. The place is filled with twenty-somethings playing Nintendo on a projection TV, giggling, sipping fancy cocktails, and showing their straight friends what the mainstream gay scene is like. And there are so many screechy 'woo girls.' If you are under 30, live in the suburbs, wear Polo shirts, and enjoy top 40 music, you will feel comfortable here. If you are hoping to meet adult men, stay away.

“great atmosphere , great bar to be at on any day”
The bartenders are friendly here. There are plenty of seats, a gaming area, pool tables, and a stage for karaoke on some days or for shows.
