About

Bar: Full barBest nights: Thu, Fri, Sat

One review calls the patio "AMAZING" — through the bar and out back, it's a spacious summer draw for drinks and food until 11pm. Cafe Hollywood has been a punk bar since 1993, serving a mixed gay-straight crowd on Lark Street.

Happy hour and a full bar keep things casual. The place may be listed as permanently closed on Yelp, so confirm it's open before heading out. Oh Bar is another nearby gay-friendly spot a short walk away.

“Cafe Hollywood isn't a gay bar”

I don't understand why this place is labeled a gay bar. It's located on Lark Street, which is a gay-friendly area, but Cafe Hollywood definitely is not a gay bar. I'm not going to give it a bad review, but it's not the best spot to go to. However, if you're there in the summer, you should definitely stop by for a drink on their fantastic patio, which is through the bar and out back. They also serve food. Unfortunately, the patio closes at 11 PM. One staff member is really friendly.

“Don't bother”

Calling this place a dive punk bar would be generous. Be careful of a large blonde woman who hates men and is very unpleasant.
