“Pleasantly surprised”

My first experience wasn't great for a bunch of maybe too many and too personal reasons. Last night I decided to try again. The bartender was awesome and friendly. People seemed to be enjoying themselves and a few said hello, which was a nice change. They even had sports on, which unfortunately let me catch my team's preseason game from earlier that night that ended in a loss, but I really liked the place. It was more relaxed and cheerful than my first visit. I hope to come back for the bartender's birthday party and other events for a fun, chill happy time. Bravo, ROCKS.

Rocks attracts a diverse crowd, with an older happy hour crowd. Friday nights are lively, and Saturday nights feature various DJs. The clientele remains mixed. They host a bear night every other month. Wednesday is variety night, every other Thursday is therapy Thursday (check Facebook for schedule), Friday happy hour has underwear boys, and there's a ladies happy hour in the club. Friday nights can include themes or money dropping from the ceiling. They have many drink and shot specials, and sometimes offer food around 6 pm on Sunday for the happy hour crowd. One bartender is always entertaining. It's across from waterworks, so check out both bars—these are the only two gay clubs in Albany currently. There's also Oh Bar on Lark Street, which is small but has a pool table and a nice patio. The bartenders are friendly, but the crowd can be cliquey.

“LOVE ROCKS”

I LOVE ROCKS, IT'S GREAT FOR DANCING, DRINKS, OR HANGING OUT. THE ATMOSPHERE IS EXCELLENT, FRIENDLY, AND INVITING. SO COME ON IN!
