Tavern on Camac
American · Fusion · Philadelphia, PA
About
You might spot the piano getting tuned during the day shift, a level of care you don't often see in a piano bar. Tavern on Camac packs three distinct spaces into one venue: a pub up front, a piano bar in the middle, and a nightclub in back. The crowd leans 30s to 40s, mixed gay and straight, with regulars who treat the place like a living room.
Offer a strong pour here, and the vibe stays low-key during the week before ramping up on weekends. Happy hour and full bar are confirmed. One reviewer found the bartender unfriendly on two visits, but most praise the friendly service and clean space.
Located in Philadelphia's Washington Square West neighborhood, a walkable area with a mix of restaurants and nightlife.

“great time, time after time”
We visited Philadelphia for a week and came here every single night. The bartenders were welcoming and their drinks were very generous.

“the worst bar ever”
Stay away from this place. There are many nicer bars nearby, and the bartenders here are rude and unattractive.

Over a year ago, I visited twice and had unpleasant interactions with people there, including a bartender on one occasion.

“Nice Piano Bar”
My friends and I stopped by yesterday afternoon. It wasn't busy yet, but the people there were very welcoming. The place was spotless. I even saw the piano being tuned, which I'd never observed in a piano bar before. The only downside was that they didn't serve Bloody Marys.
