If you want a dirt cheap drink in a no-frills dive where everyone's welcome, this is your spot. The Brewer's Bar is a small, women-led bar in the Strip District that just added a dance floor, keeping its old-school dive soul. The crowd is all over the map: bears, leather, hipsters, straight, gay, trans, lesbian. Drinks are absurdly cheap. Happy hour got one reviewer a vodka tonic, a Miller Lite, and two shots of the house specialty (Rocket Fuel, made from everything behind the bar) for $5. Weekends bring drag shows and karaoke hosted by Eddieoke.

The place is adults-only and stays casual. Expect a mix of regulars, including 20-somethings through 40-somethings. It's a proper dive: small, a little rough around the edges, and proud of it. You'll find Cattivo and other nightlife spots nearby if you want to keep the night going.

“Love Love Love This bar!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

This spot is tiny and truly fits the dive bar description, but it's awesome. I got a vodka tonic, a Miller Lite, and two shots of their house drink, Rocket Fuel, during happy hour and only paid $5. That house drink is made with everything behind the bar and really packs a punch. The crowd is incredibly diverse—bears, leather folks, hipsters, straight people, gay, trans, lesbian, everyone. You'll have a great time.

“THE MENS ONLY HOUSING ABOVE BREWERS”

Brewers Bar is very hit or miss. The men-only housing above the bar is owned by the same woman and managed by someone who is very hard to deal with. There was a huge bed bug infestation and even now there are still bed bugs. That manager also lives upstairs on the second floor. The bathrooms are not clean—there has been blood on the door, floor, walls, and sink eight different times in 30 days and it's still not cleaned. Do not rent bi-weekly or monthly at Brewers Bar!

The key word is dive. If you're okay with unclean conditions and people who are totally wasted, then come on in.

Re: 'Karaoke Night' - You don't know what you're talking about. This is the best bar in Pittsburgh. Karaoke by Eddieoke is the best karaoke. Get out of Brewers, we don't want you.

“Karaoke Night”

It took years for Brewers to clean up its act, but now it's going backwards with Saturday karaoke nights. A group of us has been going there every Saturday and we're thinking about going somewhere else.
