About

What sets this Oakcliff dive bar apart is its karaoke pajama parties, a long-standing tradition that keeps the energy quirky and unexpected. Known to regulars as 'The Pav,' Barbara's Pavilion serves a mixed LGBTQ+ crowd in a space that's more lived-in than polished. On a given night you might find just a handful of people nursing drinks, though the owner's demeanor draws sharply divided opinions in reviews.

Happy hour specials and outdoor seating are part of the draw here. If you go, keep expectations grounded: the atmosphere can feel sparse on slow nights, and the owner's attitude has been called both welcoming and abrasive depending on who you ask. Station 4 , a longtime Dallas gay club, is nearby if you want to shift gears later.

Located in Dallas's Oakcliff neighborhood near Bishop Avenue, a commercial corridor with shops and restaurants.

“not fun”

I disagree with people saying the drinks are cheap; I found them overpriced. During my visit, the owner talked badly about four people I consider friends. He has a terrible attitude and treats customers poorly. I will never step foot in that place again unless you want to be disrespected by the owner. He kept gossiping about people I know. Then a man grabbed my butt and made a rude comment. When I confronted him, the owner told me to be quiet. Earlier, the owner had been trash-talking that same man, claiming he stole from him. I asked what he stole, and it certainly wasn't that sour, rotten egg smell in the place. The owner is a jerk. He overcharges, talks behind people's backs, and is rude to customers. No wonder nobody goes there anymore; only three people were there on a Saturday night. This place has lost its appeal. Don't waste your time or money.
