“WORST BAR EVER”

Having worked in the bar industry since 2001, I can say this is the absolute worst bar I have ever visited. The place is outdated, dirty, cramped, and excessively noisy for its size. The show was terrible, and they make customers move from their seats just because a regular arrives. In all my years as a bartender and bar manager, I have never asked someone to vacate a seat for a regular; that is completely ridiculous, and I would discipline any bartender who did that. The bartenders, aside from telling me to move for a regular, were fine, and the drinks were okay. Everything came in a tall glass with no rocks glasses available, and even those were plastic. Only two queens showed up for the performance, though about three audience members out of drag were introduced by the show director anyway. The prices were the only good thing about the bar, except for the Jager shot, which cost $8.25 and wasn't even cold. Well drinks and domestic beers (cans only) were $3.75, which matches the condition of the place. The decor looks like it hasn't changed since the bar opened 44 years ago. The all black backdrop is depressing, but common in gay bars. There were some young people, but the crowd was mostly older and flamboyant. The pool tables were worn out, the music was way too loud for a space only 35 to 40 feet across, and the bathrooms were so dirty I held it until I got back to my hotel. I will never return.

“Great G Town Dive”

Many regulars and good times! There's a swimming pool and friendly service. A queer staple in Galveston.

“LOVE THIS CLUB”

I work here every Saturday night at 10:30pm. There is never a cover charge, and there is a free buffet every Monday and Thursday, though you need to call for the times. If you have a birthday, they are happy to help you with your event. It's a great place to meet new friends and see some of the best entertainers in Galveston.
