InterContinental San Francisco

About
Rising above SoMa, the InterContinental San Francisco's sleek glass tower is hard to miss. You'll find modern rooms, a family-friendly and pet-friendly vibe, and an executive lounge worth the upgrade: it includes breakfast, afternoon tea, and a happy hour with drinks. The hotel is a few blocks from the leather bars on Folsom Street, a short walk to Market Street and the Powell Street BART station.
Corner rooms offer great city views, though some rooms show wear. The service is strong, but the food is unimpressive. If you're traveling with a partner, the $40/night exec lounge add-on is a solid deal. Just be aware of 6th Street at night. For a central queer-friendly stay with all-hours access, this is a reliable choice.

“Love this hotel and the staff is pretty amazing”
I really enjoy staying here. If possible, get a corner room, and it's worth paying extra for access to the executive lounge. For two people, it's definitely a good value. The breakfast is excellent. The afternoon tea offers nice finger sandwiches, and the happy hour is fantastic with lots of food options and drinks. The lounge access is worth around $40 per night if two people are staying, but maybe not for a solo traveler. I'm vegan and gluten-free, and there weren't many choices for me, but my partner eats everything and had plenty. The location is great, close to SF Centre, Market Street, and nearby the Folsom Street Fair and bars are within walking distance, but you should be cautious of 6th Street. Overall, this hotel is wonderful.

“unimpressive”
The hotel is in a fantastic location, but the rooms are a bit dated. The service was excellent, though the food was disappointing. The views from the top floor are stunning.
