the Curtis Denver - a DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel
Cocktail Lounge · Hotel · Denver, CO
About
Think swinging 60s London dropped into downtown Denver. The Curtis brings playful retro kitsch with modern flair, from mid-century furniture to early modern Christmas decorations that are more Mad Men than mistletoe. It's a DoubleTree by Hilton, so you get that reliable chain comfort, but the personality is all its own. The hotel skews mixed gay-straight and welcomes all ages, making it a solid pick for queer travelers looking for a theme hotel without being an exclusively gay one.
The bar and restaurant on the first floor draw locals and guests alike, especially during shows when the place gets lively. Rooms are smallish but well-appointed, and the service earns praise. You're steps from Larimer Square and the 16th Street Mall. If you're exploring Denver's gayborhood, the Curtis puts you right in the action but with a quieter base. Rates are moderate for the area, and pet-friendly policies mean you might spot a pooch in the lobby.
Located in downtown Denver, the Curtis is near Larimer Square and the 16th Street Mall, with easy access to the gayborhood and fine arts venues.

“Excellent place for theater, food and a good romp!”
The renovations are pleasant and quite stylish; rooms are on the smaller side but still fine. I think there's a quality seafood restaurant on the ground floor. A major bonus for Denver. I'd strongly suggest this spot if you're attending a show.

“Great Find”
I enjoy staying at this hotel. It's located in downtown Denver, near arts venues, shops, restaurants, and the gay neighborhood. The service is excellent and friendly, the decor is nice, and the holiday decorations were incredibly well done—not religious but early modern kitsch. It's a good value for the price.
