My husband and I reserved the garden king suite with private outdoor showers, and it was an absolutely exceptional experience. We can't wait to return to Ed Lugo Resort. The property has buildings on both sides of NE 8th St, and our room was across from those near the lovely heated pool and waterfall. That didn't matter, though, because our suite had access to other private, lushly landscaped grounds with mature tropical plants and comfortable outdoor furniture, plus private outdoor showers. I'm usually shy about being naked outdoors, but showering under palm trees and the Florida sky (with high fencing for privacy) was unique and freeing. The main area was fantastic. It was unusually cold during our Fort Lauderdale visit, but we still enjoyed the heated pool every night. The pool was beautifully lit and warm enough for a dip even at 2 a.m. when it was in the 50s outside. Inside, the suite had a large kitchen (we barely used it because there were so many great restaurants nearby) and plenty of space. The decor felt homey rather than standard hotel style, which we loved. Service was excellent, and Ed personally gave us a tour of the grounds and room. Overall, an A+ experience. Clean rooms, close to everything, comfy beds, easy layout, nice amenities, romantic, upscale and trendy.

Ed and his team make you feel like you're staying in their own home. You get a chilled shot at check-in, a personal tour of the resort, and then a tour of your room with fresh warm cookies waiting. It's just a short walk from numerous restaurants and bars, and if you need anything, just ask Ed. He knows everything about the area, from drink specials to beach spots. We'll definitely return soon. “Wonderful gaycation”
I had never been to Fort Lauderdale, so I was taking a big chance with my choices. This resort had so many glowing reviews that I felt it was a safe bet, and it paid off hugely. Colleen was extremely attentive and accommodating, and I truly felt at home away from home. My room was beautifully decorated and well maintained, and the pool was just steps away. I went out occasionally, and everything you could need is within walking distance (grocery store, restaurants, bars, nightclubs), but I spent most of my time quietly enjoying this little oasis. I'm already looking forward to my next visit. Thank you so much!

“Excellent Location; Gorgeous Hotel.”
When I arrived, the very friendly owner Ed greeted me with a complimentary alcoholic drink of my choice. He's genuinely lovely. My room was very spacious, with a dining area and kitchen. The bathroom was modern and I felt right at home. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the outdoor decorations were fabulous. The beautiful waterfall pool was heated perfectly, and I ended up swimming several times a day. It was wonderful. I really enjoyed my stay and can't wait to return. You know a hotel is good when you can't wait to come back.

“Mark and Alan's review.”
My partner and I stayed here for three nights at the end of January before our Atlantis Caribbean cruise from Port Everglades. We had a fantastic time. All the apartments are different and nicely furnished. There were snacks, a fridge, and coffee in the room. Ample space on the grounds for sunbathing, plus a wonderful pool with a fountain and a hot tub. The resort is a 5-minute walk from the shops, bars, and restaurants of Wilton Manors. A very pleasant stay. Thanks Ed. We hope to come back.
