The room I stayed in was infested with cockroaches.

This is one of the last remaining all-male clothing-optional resorts in the area. Many others have switched to being labeled as gay-friendly or family-friendly, which isn't the same. Also, other gay hotels now have tall buildings next to them that ruin the privacy around the pool. The pool area at InnLeather is shielded from outside view, which is very appreciated. It's just minutes from the airport and cruise port. Strong WiFi and free parking, which is rare these days. I found the front desk staff very accommodating when approached politely.

“Paradise for Play”
I always look forward to the special experience that is Inn Leather Guest House and Resort. I think you will too! This clothing-optional all-male resort in sunny South Florida gives gay men a unique chance to make new friends and recharge. It's reasonably priced and beautifully landscaped, with 12 great rooms (each has its own sling). The rooms are clean, with fun decor, and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. You can relax in the large, clean heated pool or the soothing hot tub. There's a shaded patio near the pool where continental breakfast is served every day. The grounds have many lovely outdoor areas that are private, beautiful, and perfect for intimate moments. Conveniently located in Fort Lauderdale, it's 2 miles from the beach, 3 miles from the airport, and 5 miles from Wilton Manors. Several restaurants are within walking distance, including a BBQ place and Denny's. Wilton Manors is a gay-friendly city with lots of entertainment, from intimate live music to lively dance floors, plus great clothing stores, tasty restaurants, and live shows—a dream destination for gay men.

“They treat you like you are on a day pass”
A friend stayed here and I was excited to try it with my husband before our cruise. We arrived early from a red-eye flight, and they left keys for us. When I checked in at the office in the morning, I was surprised they made a copy of my credit card and driver's license. I said I was uncomfortable, and the unhelpful clerk told me it was policy and I'd have to talk to the manager. When the manager came out, he said he needed those copies to prove to the credit card company I was there, and that it protected the resort in case we trashed the room, which he said happens often. Seems they don't trust guests. They offer day passes, which makes a playful atmosphere but apparently causes issues. The hot tub was broken, the outdoor sling had been stolen. They even had a photo of thieves stealing things with a sign saying 'watch your wallet boys.' Later, when I asked for a DVD, the clerk gave me only about six options. I asked if that was all, and he complained about people not returning them, then ranted that day passes bring in riff-raff and drug users. I took two DVDs to my room. One wouldn't play. I went back to ask how to use the DVD player; the clerk acted annoyed and said, 'Oh, you're in room 3, that player is broken.' Later, he yelled at my husband for sitting in a lounge chair that someone else had moved. The room itself was just okay. The sling was right in front of the bathroom, so you had to go around or under it to get in. When we checked out on Sunday, a different, nicer clerk said he needed to inspect the room before we left—really. Bottom line, stay at another gay resort and only come here on a day pass, because there was no action at night.

“Enjoyable!”
Stayed here for three days with my boyfriend and had a great time. While the facilities are a bit old, the maintenance crew works hard to keep everything clean and working. It's definitely a place for play; the tagline 'every room has a sling' reflects that the place is set up for fun times—not just the sling, but also play towels in every room and paper towels placed conveniently for cleanup. The staff is universally polite, cares about your well-being, and responds quickly to any request. Yes, it's a bit far from the gayborhood in Wilton Manors, but that's just a ten-minute drive.
