The hotel now consists of five interconnected buildings. Don't be misled by the promotional photos; the vibe is now distant and the property has turned into a fancy resort. The days of enjoying a fun gay courtyard hotel in Central Beach are over. The only advantages are being close to the beach and a few restaurants, but those also serve tourists. Most people head to Wilton Manors for nightlife.

Gross. If you enjoy the over-80 crowd, book a stay. The owner is as pleasant as a barracuda. You've been warned.

“poor customer service”
This place can be very hit or miss, depending on which staff members are on duty. A few of them seem to enjoy having authority and make questionable decisions when enforcing hotel rules. For instance, on Labor Day evening around 10:15, my friends and I were by the pool playing cards while listening to a Pink ballad at a reasonable volume on my iPhone. The attendant came out and demanded I turn off the music. Everyone in my group was confused by this request, but I complied. When someone else asked why, he said it was hotel policy that all music must be off after 10 p.m. Since we were on our fourth night there and had never heard that rule before, I asked him to show us the written policy or a posted sign. He couldn't produce one and seemed threatened by our questions, eventually threatening to kick us out—for playing music on my phone and asking for justification. None of us swore or acted threateningly. Honestly, if he had provided any proof, I wouldn't be writing this review. That's fine. I paid nearly $1,000 to stay here and won't be coming back. It's disappointing when you pay so much for a supposedly world-class resort but get treated with less respect than at a motel 6.

“Not the greatest”
I would advise against using the hot tubs, or at least limit your time in them. My boyfriend and I visited the Worthington House almost two weeks ago, and we are still feeling the effects of the excessive acid they had put in the hot tubs. We ended up with an unintended full-body chemical peel—singed hair, cracked skin, and all. You're not supposed to stay in for long, but given the limited activities at the Worthington House, most of the guys there socialized and flirted in the hot tub. If you want to get wet, just use the pool instead. The staff at the Worthington were not very accommodating. They only interacted with guests when they had to or if it was your birthday. That's unfortunate because the staff at clothing-optional places can really make or break the experience. They did their jobs, but don't expect much beyond that. Overall, I was not impressed with the Worthington and wonder if other gay men's clothing-optional hotels in the area are better. If you're looking for something more upscale, fun, and liberating, drive down to Key West and stay at the Island House—it's definitely an improvement over the Worthington.
