About

You'll notice the high ceilings and marble details right away — this Hilton Garden Inn is housed in a former bank, giving the lobby a unique character you don't usually find in chain hotels. It sits across the street from Mile Square, so grabbing food or catching a game is an easy walk. Rooms are good-sized with comfortable beds, and the staff here consistently gets positive remarks for being friendly and helpful.

There's a small pool and hot tub if you want to unwind, plus a fitness room that's better than many in this price range. The breakfast spread gets compliments, and the bar and lounge are open around the clock. One quirk: the bathroom door is placed awkwardly next to the bed, and the AC fan runs continuously unless you turn the whole unit off. For Pride or the Indy Tennis Classic, they offer special rates that make this a solid choice.

The hotel is located in Downtown Indianapolis, right across from Mile Square, putting you steps from restaurants, bars, and entertainment venues.

“f the Conrad is booked up. And the Hilton Downtown is booked up.”

The Omni is fully booked. You'll regret waiting until Friday afternoon and curse whatever convention is happening in Indianapolis. Still, this is a better-than-average Garden Inn. The staff is friendly, the location is great, the beds are comfortable, and the rooms are a decent size but not huge. Amenities include a small pool, hot tub, good fitness room, nice business center, free Wi-Fi, and free printing. Two minor issues: the bathroom door is awkwardly placed next to the bed, and the air conditioning fan keeps running constantly until you turn the whole system off, which makes the room warmer. Overall, I'd stay again and recommend it.

“Pride-Friendly”

I stayed here last year for Indy Pride. They offered a special rate for the festival. The staff is friendly, and the hotel is a beautifully converted old bank. They also have rates for the GLTA-sanctioned Indy Tennis Classic. Great location, great staff, good food, great rooms, and a great place overall.
