“Romantic Evening?”

The website gave wrong directions because Airport Expressway is now called Sam Jones Expressway. We spent an hour and a half driving around since they hadn't updated their directions. At check-in, the front desk girl gave us keys and just said thanks. I had to ask how to find the room and elevators. I also had to ask about the romantic package I bought online, and she had to enter it into the system. My reservation should have been correct without me needing to ask. The room itself was nice, but the bed was far from the TV, so the remote didn't work from there. One trash can had garbage left in it, and the bathroom trash can had no liner. Room service was supposed to deliver strawberries and champagne from the package at 8pm but came at 8:40pm. I called the front desk, who told me to call room service. I called at 8:35pm and no one answered. We went to the restaurant and faced a 90-minute wait. Then the bar was too full and not letting anyone else in. So we went back to the room and ordered room service at 9pm. They said it would take an hour, arriving at 10pm. It came at 10:36pm and was barely warm, plus they forgot my onion soup. I called at 10:40pm, and they said they'd bring it right up. At midnight I called again, no answer. On the third call, someone from the restaurant finally answered, and the soup I'd ordered at 9pm arrived at 12:20am. At 10pm we tried to use the internet but it wasn't working. We spent an hour with tech support and an in-house technician, who had to reset a switch somewhere. At 11:30pm I went to the front desk for change for a $20 for the soda machine. He gave me three fives and five ones. I went back to the sixth floor and found the machine didn't take dollars, only coins. I walked to another machine on the other end of the floor, but it also only took quarters. I called the front desk, who said the vending machines only take change. Why didn't they tell me that or give me coins instead of all bills? Why doesn't a nice hotel have dollar accepters? Even Motel 8 does. At noon the next day, housekeeping knocked on our door asking when we'd leave. Our checkout was 3pm for the romantic package, and I had the do not disturb sign on the door. Why was the housekeeper bothering us? It seemed every time I called the restaurant or room service, no one answered three out of four times. At the front desk, no one was there three out of four times I went, including when I complained about the champagne, got change, and checked out. We had to ring a bell and wait for someone from the back.
