Sunset Inn

Sunset Inn

Bed & Breakfast · Provincetown, MA

About

You find a mix of opinions at this historic East End inn. The Sunset Inn, one of P-town's oldest, sits about 2 miles from downtown. It offers three decks with sunloungers, including a top deck with views of town and the sea. An outdoor pool is nice, but an indoor pool looked dirty to some. Rooms are basic: efficiency kitchen, cable, murphy bed, sleep sofa. Some guests loved the clean rooms and friendly owners Andy and Lenny. Others noted dated decor, no AC, thin walls, and rowdy patrons. It's a mixed bag, but the cozy common spaces and Cape hospitality are long-standing.

Yelp confirms free wifi and 9am-9pm hours daily. If you book, know ownership may pitch timeshares at $900-$1900. For a quieter stay with more amenities, consider The Red Inn nearby. But if you want an affordable spot with a pool and deck views, Sunset Inn is an option. Bring your own sheets if worried about bed bugs. Otherwise, you might look elsewhere.

The Sunset Inn is in the East End neighborhood of Provincetown, about 2 miles from the downtown area.

“Relax you're on Vacation !”

This is a great inn. The two owners make you feel at home as soon as you arrive; they are some of the nicest people you could meet. The rooms are very clean, with private bathrooms, flat-screen TVs, DVD players, and nice decor. They have three fantastic decks with lounge chairs and regular chairs, and the top deck offers a view of Provincetown and the ocean. It's close to everything in town but not too noisy. I would recommend it to anyone.

“Inexpensive...and there is a reason”

This dated waterfront spot is inexpensive for good reason: pink carpet, no air conditioning, thin walls, rowdy guests, and front desk staff who are curt and could use a lesson in smiling. The owners are pushing timeshares, which resulted in two phone calls with decreasing prices—from $1900 down to an offer starting at $900+ on the last day. It's about two miles to downtown Provincetown. The outdoor pool is nice, but the indoor pool looked dirty. The units are basic with an efficiency kitchen, cable TV, a Murphy bed, and a sleeper sofa. I brought my own sheets even though they provide them, because I worried about bedbugs. I won this stay, so it was a free vacation; if it were free again, I'd return, but otherwise I'd look elsewhere.
