About

The scent of old wood and garden blooms greets you at this Queen Anne Victorian, built in 1894 by Asheville's mayor. Set back on 1.5 acres in the Chestnut Historic District, the Beaufort House Inn has hosted actors (Charlton Heston once lived here) and couples celebrating commitment ceremonies on its grounds. An evening wine and microbrew social is part of the daily rhythm, and the gourmet breakfast draws regular praise.

You're a half-mile stroll from downtown Asheville's dining and galleries, yet the property feels like a quiet retreat. The innkeeper's history includes a full restoration in the 1970s and a 1992 conversion to a B&B. If you want a resort with a pool, the nearby Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa is a different vibe, but here the luxury is in the wraparound porch and landscaped gardens. Free Wi-Fi is included, and the residential neighborhood means restful nights.

“Definitely worth staying”

The Beaufort House Inn is a fantastic place to stay when visiting the Asheville area. We held our commitment ceremony on site, and both the venue and the team were excellent. They made us feel extremely welcome. Be sure to try the gourmet breakfast!
