About

Expect more than a typical hotel stay at Santa Fe's Ten Thousand Waves. This Japanese onsen resort, open since 1981, is the only place in town where guests can soak naked together. Robes are provided, but you shed them for the hot tubs, saunas, and ice baths. The vibe is serene, luxe, and unabashedly clothing-optional. It's mixed gay and straight, with a private women-only area available.

The resort sits in the foothills, 10 minutes from downtown. Suites are individually decorated with Japanese aesthetics. You'll find free Wi-Fi and a dog-friendly policy. The full experience includes massage, sauna, and jacuzzi access. Best time to go? During snowfall when steam rises off the outdoor tubs. It's a retreat, not a party spot. If you want a more conventional hotel option nearby with less nudity, La Posada de Santa Fe is a solid alternative.

“amazing spa”

Get undressed and go for the oriental style. Ice baths and amazing outdoor hot tubs are incredible when it's snowing or snow is on the ground. Very nice, beautiful, and super relaxing.

“OMG. What a great experience”

After traveling to Santa Fe for 18 years, I finally visited the spa. It was top-notch all the way.

“Place of serenity to relax (mixed: straight-gay)”

This venue functions as both a day spa and a hotel with overnight accommodations. It features saunas, a hot tub, tea, coffee, and light snacks, along with massage services and private hot tub rooms for couples. The atmosphere is extremely serene and luxurious, with a Japanese-inspired design and decor. It stands out as the only spot in Santa Fe where you can be nude in a social setting. Robes are provided, but you take them off when using the hot tub or sauna. It has a somewhat gay-friendly vibe. There are also private facilities just for women.
