About

First-time visitors are greeted by bold, creative decor and a swanky bar at Hotel Rose - A Staypineapple Hotel, formerly Hotel Fifty, in downtown Portland. This pet-friendly boutique hotel sits steps from the Willamette River. It attracts a mixed LGBTQ+ crowd of 30-somethings and 40-somethings. The on-site restaurant, H50 Bistro, and bar are standouts, with the Citrus Heat drink earning praise from guests. However, reviews are split: while many praise the design and service, one guest reported a sagging mattress and unresolved complaint. Management later apologized and offered credit, so newer rooms may be fine.

The gym and family-friendly vibe make it practical for all travelers. The hotel's Downtown location puts you near many attractions. For a more upscale stay, you might compare it to The Nines, a Luxury Collection Hotel nearby. Book carefully and request a newly renovated room if mattress comfort is priority. Staff like Steve and Cora at the bar are often highlighted for excellent service.

Located in Downtown Portland, the hotel is just steps from the Willamette River and close to the city's attractions.

“Only one word...”

Wonderful experience! The service is top-notch, with everyone being very helpful and friendly. Special mention to the bartenders, who created some excellent cocktails. My favorite was the Citrus Heat. The whole vibe is fun and creative. I'll definitely be returning soon!

“Worst mattress ever”

The location is great, the decor is nice, and the hotel is clean with friendly staff. However, you should ask for a newer mattress and earplugs. The mattress was so worn that it sagged when you lay down, making it hard to sleep. We used pillows to get through the nights and ended up checking out with back pain. Reporting it to the front desk didn't lead to any help. We will never return. In June, the manager called to apologize for not addressing our complaint. He seemed sincere and offered a full credit for another stay. We accepted a one night credit on our visa instead. As of December 2012, they've been sending us spam since our visit. We will never return.

“Fab re-designed hotel in Portland”

I heard they renovated the place, it used to be a Sheraton I think, and the rooms are beautiful. The restaurant, H50 Bistro, was good as well. The bar is very stylish, and I'm looking forward to going back.
