Jupiter Hotel Portland

Hotel · Portland, OR

About

A hotel attached to a popular music venue might seem like a party-only spot. Jupiter Hotel Portland sits right next to Douglas Fir lounge, making it a go-to for guests who want nightlife steps from their room. The motel-style layout means rooms open onto outdoor balconies, and the vibe is mixed gay/straight with after-hours energy. Reviews note rooms can be small and the AC noisy, so pack earplugs if you're on the courtyard side.

The hotel is in Southeast Portland, close to downtown but in a more laid-back neighborhood. Wi-Fi has been unreliable, so plan accordingly if you need to work from your room. For a quieter stay, request a room on the "chill" side. You'll find better connectivity at nearby options like The Nines, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Portland , if that's a priority.

“Love This Place!”

Every time I come to Portland I stay here. Noise has never been an issue as long as you pick the 'chill' side, and the location is convenient. Plus, it's simple to go to Doug Fir for a quick drink before bed.

“Awesome”

The staff is excellent, the atmosphere is fun and welcoming, and it's near downtown. I'll definitely book at Jupiter each time I visit Portland.

“you do not want to go there”

The air conditioning in my room was very loud and didn't work well; they ended up giving me a fan, which only added more noise. The room was very tiny for what is supposed to be a hotel. This place is more like a motel, and they don't advertise that honestly on their website. The Wi-Fi kept dropping or wouldn't let us connect at all; I had to use a neighbor's Wi-Fi, and I saw many guests walking around on the balcony trying to pick up a signal. When I booked, nobody mentioned there would be two extremely loud events happening in the middle of the courtyard, so I had to leave my room because of the noise. The bathroom sink was so low that every time I brushed my teeth, water would splash all over me. The ice machine was completely empty. I left a comment card, and clearly nobody showed it to management, so how can they ever improve?
