“closed for dinner”

It's still one of my favorite breakfast spots in the neighborhood, but they no longer serve dinner. The coffee is excellent—I really need a good cup to start my day.

“French toast”

This is one of my go-to places for breakfast or lunch. If you're lucky, you can get the corner table with a great view of Michigan Ave. The food is decent, especially their french toast. Service is excellent and attentive, even though the host is often away from the front door. I'm looking forward to returning.

“Best value sizable Menu v good range/ size of portions / prices”

The tasty salads and any of the entrees and omelet-based breakfasts are consistently good. Things like apple cranberry pancakes, eggs mushroom, or a certain omelette are recommended. There are vegetarian options, no alcohol. Outdoor seating is a plus, and so are the charming waiters.
