“construction”

Eating is tough with so much construction happening nearby. I'll come back and review again when it's quieter.

“good food”

The menu is small and hasn't seen changes in years. The flatbreads and bowls are good choices.

A year ago I had the Big Cowboy Breakfast - a fantastic brunch spot in the Short North. It was really busy on a winter afternoon.

“Hipster hangout for vegetarians”

The Northstar Cafe has two locations, one in the Short North and one in Clintonville. It's almost always packed with vegetarian customers. The food is excellent--you order at a counter, sit down, and they bring your food out, so there's no tipping. While waiting, you can look through magazines including gay publications. For lunch or dinner, try a large veggie burger with a simple salad, or a tasty burrito with chips and salsa, or a bowl with tofu, peanut yogurt sauce, steamed vegetables, and rice. For breakfast, get an egg sandwich and a house blend coffee with soy milk.
