“Service was GREAT!”

Adorable small coffee and sandwich shop with late hours. The staff were incredibly nice, and the food tasted great. Special thanks to the employee who helped us early in the morning.

“Essential for late night and early morning.”

When I was working in Nashville, a friend from Chicago visited me on his way back from New Orleans after Thanksgiving with family there. He didn't have much time before returning to work the next day, so I let him rest at my hotel until around 10pm. We needed a place for food, coffee, and road-appropriate snacks. We drove from Franklin to Nashville and had some trouble finding the spot even with GPS, but we made it. It looked closed, but luckily it wasn't. The place was open with a decent crowd from 11:45pm to 1:30am, so we got food and enough coffee for him to drive back to Chicago and work a half day. It's welcoming to gay people and Jewish people, with friendly staff who enjoy chatting. The food wasn't perfect but was decent, especially for being open past midnight. Their version of poutine was off—they should use curd cheese, and it's Québécois, not French-Canadian—but combined with hummus and chicken fingers, it fed us both. My friend, being Jewish, had to get a tuna melt and a veggie burger bagel for the road.

“ok, not great”

I've only visited once. The crowd didn't feel very welcoming to me, possibly because of my age, but the food was good. I might give it another try.

“The only 24-hour Coffee Shop and Cafe in Nashville”

Cafe Coco is great! It's conveniently located near Vanderbilt University in the West End area. What makes it special is that it's a local business, not a chain like Starbucks, which is refreshing because they do things really well. Whether you want a good latte or a full breakfast or lunch, Cafe Coco is perfect and open 24/7. It's definitely gay friendly and situated in a lively part of town, just a few minutes from Centennial Park, where you can take your meal to go. The menu includes breakfast bagels, sandwiches, traditional specials, and for lunch there are sandwiches, burgers, pasta, pizza, wraps, and salads. They also host live music events, which fits right in with Nashville as Music City. Definitely a place to check out!
