About

Walking in after midnight, you'll see a crowd of gay men digging into burgers and pie. This diner in West Grey has been a late-night staple for years, earning the nickname "House of Guys" from its post-bar clientele. The menu covers classic American comfort food, from breakfast items to BLTs, and the pies are a standout — regulars say they're the best in town. It's open 24 hours on paper, but the real action starts around 2am when nearby bars let out.

Expect a lively, sometimes chaotic atmosphere late at night — one reviewer called it "a zoo." Service is quick even when it's busy, and counter seating is available if tables are full. If you're looking for a quieter visit, daylight hours are more relaxed. Just be prepared for occasional obnoxious drunks, as the late crowd can be rowdy. For a more curated brunch experience nearby, Snooze, an A.M. Eatery might suit you better.

“Even during busy hours....”

Stopped by for takeout after hanging out with friends. Like usual around 12:30-1am, it was fairly busy. Still, we ordered quickly and were offered seats at the counter. Our food came out within 15 minutes. I've been a regular here for years. Aside from the occasional loud drunk, the place has a great vibe—a true diner.

“Step Below a Diner”

You'd expect classic diner food that's fun and basic, but something's off—it feels like a dirty Denny's at 2am. The food is unappealing, and the pies—unless I missed a good one among apple, peach, lemon, cherry, pecan, etc.—are worse than frozen supermarket pies reheated at home. Over the last decade, all my friends have stopped eating here, and so have I. It's not worth going, and the "House of Guys" reputation is ancient history.

“24 Hour Diner featuring...pies!”

Offers a full American food menu and the best pies in town! Breakfast and very late nights get crowded. Late night is chaos!!! It's popular after bars close (2am) and is often called "House of Guys." Located on the west side of Montrose area, but not far. Don't miss it.
