About
If you're after cheap drinks and no attitude, Sweetwater Saloon is your spot. This historic dive bar opened in 1978 and still pulls in a mixed crowd of locals, pool players, and gay guys cruising the scene. Bartenders pour stiff wells and keep the jukebox rocking.
Happy hour runs seven days from 10am to 8pm, with $2.25 draft domestics. Wednesdays are a standout: free pool plus $2.25 wells and drafts all night. It's on the Broadway strip, within walking distance of places like STRUT Bar & Club if you want to bar-hop.

“Great by day, but after dark something else”
I went on a Friday afternoon for a beer and was served quickly by a friendly bartender at the bar. The crowd was a good mix of guys, some drinking and some playing pool. When I returned around 11 that night, the place was packed with young straight women crowding the bar, and there were hardly any men. Once I got to the bar, the female bartender ignored me, so I left. Why don't the straight women here have boyfriends to go home to? It seems they like hanging out at gay bars.

“Very nice neighborhood bar great prices”
This place might not have the most attractive people around, but the staff is great and the customers are friendly. Check out their specials: Tuesday $2 wells, Saturday $1 drafts until 6 PM, Sunday $2 wells until ??, and there's always some kind of party happening. Stop by.

“Favorite Neighborhood Gay Bar”
Locals really enjoy this place, and I do too. It's a different vibe from the scene in Hollywood but still offers a nice, fun, relaxed atmosphere. The bartenders are extremely nice, and the crowd is laid-back—no attitudes here. Drinks are strong and inexpensive, and it's a must-visit on the gay bar strip along Broadway.

“Favorite Long Beach watering hole”
I stopped in on a Wednesday night and was greeted with a beautiful smile from the bartender, a tall, good-looking guy who will take care of your thirst and treat you right. A couple of pool tables make this a local hangout with friendly customers too.

“Clean fun bar”
We've stopped by a few times and really like this place. It's clean, updated, and has friendly people and staff—a nice neighborhood bar. It's located on Broadway, within walking distance of other bars on Broadway, so if you want to visit several spots without driving, this is one to include on your route.
