About

Bar: Full barBest nights: Fri, Sat, Sun

What separates Pecs Bar from other gay bars in San Diego is its unmarked gray exterior hiding a rainbow-filled interior. It's a leather cruise bar with a casual, divey vibe, drawing a bear crowd in their 30s through 50s. The pool table gets used, and the outdoor patio offers a break from the dark indoor scene.

Drinks are strong and cheap, with happy hour specials. The full bar stays open until midnight most nights, 2am on weekends. Service reviews are mixed, but the music consistently gets praise. Yelp confirms it's busiest on Friday through Sunday.

Located in San Diego's North Park neighborhood, near the intersection of Alabama Street.

My boyfriend and I went on a Thursday night and had a good time. The drinks were potent and reasonably priced, and people were actually playing pool. Staff was average, neither particularly welcoming nor rude. I especially enjoyed the music. We would come back again.

“barteders need to get another job”

Nice bar, nice patio, but the clientele is just okay and the bartenders are the worst in San Diego, no question. Look at the other reviews. Who runs this place? I'm never coming back. Redwing is a much better option if you want good service, good food, and a great patio.
