Tear-Ez
Country Western · Sports Bar · Akron, OH
About
No cover charge. Ever. That's been the rule since 1986, and Tear-Ez sticks to it. This downtown Akron spot runs two bars next door to each other: one at 358 and another at 360 South Main. You get drag shows most weekends, strong drinks at cheap prices, and a mixed crowd that's always interesting for people watching.
Happy hour runs 11am to 9pm daily, which is basically the entire afternoon. The place skews country-western some nights but also hosts male dancers and sports watch parties. Parking can be tough on weekends, but the staff is friendly, there's an outdoor patio, and you can hop between both bars without a cover. Regulars say the weekend crowd is where it's at.

“can be a good time”
I completely agree, they should kick that guy named Bam out because he gets annoying very fast. There are a lot of gross regulars, but enough attractive men to make me want to come back. The downtown location is good and easy to find, though parking is terrible especially on weekends. Most of the bartenders are nice, but a few are rude. The old nasty bar next door is now connected to Tearez, so the place is two bars in one, which is cool. I recommend it, but go on a weekend or later at night because happy hour is really bad.

“Not the Nicest, but the Funnest!”
This is definitely not the nicest bar in Akron, but it can be the most fun. It's always crowded on weekends and during shows, and the crowd is diverse and always interesting to watch. I do wish they would ban the guy named Bam...he gets annoying, and we have left early because of him a couple times. Overall, you will have fun here.
