About

Bar: Full bar

Chandeliers, lasers, and an illuminated runway dance floor define Voyeur Nightclub's 3-floor dance bazaar. This Washington Square West venue draws a mixed gay-straight crowd of 20-somethings and 30-somethings who come for EDM, hip-hop, and classic dance grooves across separate floors. It's adults-only and opens as late as 4am on weekends, with a full bar and after-hours vibe.

Reviews call out the house music and the Old School/Hip Hop upstairs section. The sound system has drawn criticism, and some guests have noted inconsistent door policies. But regulars return for the late hours and energetic dancing crowd. If you want another nearby spot, Bob and Barbara's Lounge is a short walk for a dive-bar alternative.

Located in Washington Square West, within walking distance of other gay bars and nightlife spots.

“One and only time there”

The dancing crowd was great, but the club was run unprofessionally. The sound system was terrible—now I get the complaints about house music's constant pounding bass. Over an hour after opening, staff were still moving furniture off the dance floor to make room, which should have been done before opening, or they should have opened other floors given the big crowd. At the door, I was carded (I'm Black) but noticed none of the white people entering as I left were carded. Really? It's not the 1950s! Stop that. If I hadn't known it was a gay club, the mirrors in the men's room that let you see everything at the urinals would have been a dead giveaway. Probably won't return, even though I was excited to go based on what I'd heard and read.

“I like it”

I liked having multiple rooms and good music, but it closed too early for me. The little outdoor area was fun.

“What a joke”

I moved to Philly from Chicago (amazing city) three years ago under protest. Hoping to find a club that could transport me, I was told to go to Voyeur. It's shabby and uninteresting, with dull lighting and local DJs who seem to just play what they heard on the radio that day. Occasionally they bring in a real out-of-town DJ like Sal Dano or Eddie Elias who can blow the roof off, but not often enough. After 1:30 AM, the crowd is about 65% women and 30% amateurs. Definitely not a world-class nightclub. Overall, Philly is a dump, and if you want a night out don't waste your money there—if you know club life, you'll be disappointed. Try Atlanta, Chicago, or Miami.

“Late Night Fun”

Love that this place stays open until 3 AM. It's a great spot to dance, the music is amazing, and everyone is just there to have fun. I really enjoyed the old school and hip hop upstairs. The special events are a bit pricey but worth it.
