This place is extremely welcoming to gay people. It's a good spot for relaxed conversation and feeling part of a community, even if you're not drinking.

“Love this place!”

Tribe is an excellent place to begin your evening. The crowd was more welcoming than those at gay bars in many other cities I've visited. The venue had a lot of elegance, and the music from famous DJ Ron was fantastic. The staff was also wonderful. If you're in Nashville for a random weekend, I suggest going to Tribe early and then heading to Play for late-night dancing. You won't regret it.

“The Only Review You Will Need!”

Tribe is an exceptionally nice bar, and the owners have invested a huge amount of money into it, which seems to have been worthwhile. It's mainly a video bar with different themed nights, like popular showtunes nights. On regular nights, the videos are usually upbeat top 40 and dance remixes. The atmosphere is very warm and inviting, and the place is immaculate, including the fancy bathrooms. They share a space with Suzy Wong's House of Yum, an upscale Chinese restaurant co-owned by a Top Chef contestant. I haven't eaten there, but the dishes looked tempting. There are a couple of pool tables, a small bar for private events and small groups, and a raised seating area overlooking the bar. Staff is mostly friendly, but they know they're attractive. If you're young and good-looking, you'll get outstanding service; if not, service is still good, but they may spend less time with you. I haven't had a bad experience, but I can see a double standard. Either way, service is decent. There's no cover charge, coat check is $2, and parking is usually okay unless Play is busy, then you might have to walk farther. Drinks are a bit strong, $5-6 for well drinks and $9-11 for top shelf, but pours are on the smaller side (1-1.25 oz). They accept cash and credit. For the atmosphere and what you get, prices are fair. It's rare to find a bar that's spotlessly clean, well-staffed, and safe. Overall, I give it 5 stars. They could improve in some areas, but it's a fun place.

Excellent music, good drinks, a fun crowd, and you can order food from Suzy Wong's.
