About

Fitness SF on Brannan Street claims the title of the 'gayest gym on earth,' and it lives up to the hype. Housed in a cavernous former warehouse, it takes up an entire city block with soaring ceilings that make workouts feel expansive. The brown concrete path to the locker room is jokingly called the 'runway,' and the gym rats treat it as such—modeling coordinated gear and hard-earned muscle. Cruising is subtle here; people are serious about their fitness. Beyond the main floor, you'll find a sauna, yoga classes, and spinning.

The locker room is a letdown—cramped and basic compared to the gym's grandeur. Peak hours are 5-7 pm weekdays when it's packed with energy. For a quieter session, visit in the evening or during weekday daytime. Parking is tough, so biking or transit is smarter. It's a local favorite for its friendly vibe and well-thought-out layout.

“Best Gay Gym”

My boyfriend and I workout here and we love it. The eye candy is great, and I also appreciate the layout. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is cool.

“Always Enjoyable”

This is one of the best gyms I’ve been to, with an ideal mix of an interesting crowd, well-designed equipment, good layout, ease of use, and a wonderful friendly vibe. I don't want to complain, but the locker room and shower area could be better. They don’t provide unlimited towels or the extra amenities that other high-end gyms offer. Parking can be tricky when it’s busy, made worse by the general dislike of cars in SF. It’s worth checking out.
