About
Despite its former life as a Gold's Gym, Fitness SF on Market Street has fully embraced its identity as the Castro's quintessential queer gym. This two-level space offers a friendly atmosphere, with plenty of equipment and a variety of classes like yoga and spinning. You'll also find a sauna and famously popular gang showers. Staff are welcoming, and despite what some websites say, day and week visitor passes are available. The gym can get crowded during peak morning hours, but there's a steam room that's a friendly spot to unwind.

“All you need and eye candy on top.”
This location has always housed a gay gym, but this is the first one that really nails everything. There's tons of room, plenty of equipment, and towel service is a great bonus. Plus, there's plenty of attractive people around for motivation. Combined with the friendly and helpful staff, it makes for a five-star workout experience.

“Best Gay Gym”
I like working out here with my boyfriend, though I wish it was bigger. It has two floors so you get a cardio workout just from the stairs. Great location in the neighborhood, good membership rates available. Best overall gay gym.

“Love San Fran”
My partner and I really enjoy this city. We got our portrait drawn by a street artist, went dancing at The End Up, and shopped at our favorite stores in Union Square.

“daily gym”
The atmosphere is friendly with just enough sass to push you. The morning playlist is bad, so bring your own music. The channel options on the cardio machines are also poor. Plenty of equipment though.

“A Good Gymn for Vacation Workouts”
It's a calm place in a busy city, with very welcoming staff. Despite what their website says, they do offer daily and weekly visitor rates. It's small but has a nice atmosphere for working out. The staff at the desk gave me a tour and made me feel very welcome. There are also various classes for visitors. Try to avoid the early morning rush when it gets too busy. The steam room is quite friendly.
