About
Caribe Royale Orlando operates 24/7, making it a convenient base for Disney Springs or convention needs. This Caribbean-inspired hotel spans over 240,000 square feet of meeting space. Despite its large convention focus and family-friendly outdoor seating with a swimming pool, the hotel has a troubling history regarding LGBTQ+ inclusion. A former sales employee reported that the late owner was staunchly anti-gay, denying benefits to gay employees and spouses. The sales department reportedly lists the hotel on gay websites to attract patronage, but without any internal support for the community.
For queer travelers, this creates a conflict between the hotel's public offerings and its internal policies. You might consider alternatives like the Hilton Orlando Buena Vista Palace Disney Springs Area . If you do book, the hotel's round-the-clock hours and proximity to Disney Springs are practical perks. But know that the hotel's reputation among its own former staff raises concerns about where your money goes.
Caribe Royale Orlando is located in the Disney Springs neighborhood, putting you close to the shops, dining, and entertainment of Disney Springs area.

“NO FRIEND TO THE GAY COMMUNITY”
I worked in sales at this hotel for many years until leaving for another company about a year ago. The owner, a very elderly Republican from San Diego who recently passed away, was strongly against gay people. The hotel refuses to provide any benefits to its queer employees. Many gay employees in upper management, though there are a few, are scared to be open about their lives because they might lose their jobs. Every year, the human resources department declines to consider benefits for gay and lesbian staff. The sales team lists the hotel on gay websites to attract extra business, but they're just using the community for money with no intention of supporting the gay community or their own gay workers. The deceased owner had his own new Boeing 737 jet as a private plane but wouldn't give health insurance to the same-sex spouses of his employees. Before booking, call their HR at 407-238-8486 and ask what benefits they offer to queer employees.
