About

You might expect a hotel across from a theme park to be overpriced. The DoubleTree by Hilton at the Entrance to Universal Orlando is the opposite. Its twin towers are an Orlando landmark visible from miles away. Rooms were recently renovated with bigger layouts and 50-inch flatscreen TVs. It's a budget-friendly 4-star option that draws a loyal following, including couples escaping New England for weekends and Gay Days regulars.

The hotel has a pool and an inexpensive sandwich shop right there. Hours run 24/7. The rating on Yelp is a mixed 2.7 stars from 527 reviews, but many guests highlight the value and location. If you're visiting Universal, you can walk to the gates in about 10 minutes. For other nearby options, Caribe Royale Orlando offers a different vibe a short drive away.

“Great Location! Great Staff! Great Rates!”

We adore this place! My partner and I try to escape New England for a weekend each month, and when we do, it's off to Orlando. We always stay at the Doubletree Universal; anyone who has been to Orlando knows this hotel—it's the twin towers you can see from almost anywhere in the city. The hotel was recently renovated last year, and the rooms are larger than typical, with 50-inch flat-screen TVs and all modern amenities, located in the center of everything. The best part is how affordable it is. Some friends of ours stayed at the dump across the street and paid the same amount. They thought they got a deal, and I couldn't bring myself to tell them we paid the same for a four-star hotel. I hope to meet many new friends at this year's Gay Days. If you see me, come over and say hello.
