Hyatt Regency St. Louis At The Arch
Hotel · St. Louis, MO
About
This hotel works best for travelers who want a central downtown location steps from the Gateway Arch, plus the flexibility of bringing their dog. It's a mixed-straight-gay property that attracts families and business visitors, with a notable LGBTQ+ connection through the annual HiBearNation event sponsored by Show Me Bears of St. Louis. The rooms are clean and modern after a remodel. Staff get consistent praise for being friendly.
You'll find the rooftop area worth a visit for Arch views, especially at sunset, even though the pool has been filled in. The in-house Red Kitchen is a standout for dishes like chicken piccata. Downtown gay bars are a short cab ride away. For a nearby alternative, consider The Westin St. Louis , which is also in the downtown area.
Located in Downtown St. Louis, steps from the Gateway Arch grounds and the riverfront. Walkable to the Arch and nearby casinos.

“Nice Retreat”
The renovation is nicely done. The rooms are clean, tidy, and modern. The staff is extremely pleasant and helpful (not in a suggestive way... or maybe). The pub staff is friendly and happy to keep the drinks coming. We suggest trying the fish and chips.

“Famous for its HiBearNation sex party.”
This hotel's connection to the gay community comes from the yearly HiBearNation event hosted by the Show Me Bears of St. Louis. It's not really my thing, but whatever. This is hardly a gay hotel. There are many hotels closer to St. Louis's gay neighborhood.

“Stay here!”
Book a corner room or suite facing the Arch; the views are incredible. It's clean, friendly, and reasonably priced. The hotel is right across from the park and within walking distance of the casino and new riverfront area. Everyone was extremely welcoming; I never felt out of place. Being downtown, you can walk or take the metro anywhere; ask the concierge about the metro to save time and money. The food at Red Kitchen was some of the best I've ever eaten; the chicken piccata was divine, and the polenta fries were amazing. Prices were very reasonable. If you visit St. Louis, stay here; we tried other high-end places, but none compared. The only downside is no pool; there was one on the roof, but it was filled in. Go to the roof to enjoy a glass of wine and the beautiful views. Gay bars are about a $9 cab ride away.
