About

You might expect a hotel stables to be just a quick trail ride, but Bishop's Lodge Stables offers something more. These historic stables date back to 1918 and sit on 317 acres of the iconic Bishop's Lodge Resort. You'll find 1- and 2-hour scenic trail rides through the property and into Santa Fe National Forest, plus pony rides and private lessons. The stables remained open even during the resort's renovation, which says a lot about their importance to the experience.

It's a family-friendly and pet-friendly spot — dogs are welcome. The resort itself is set in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Range, so the views are expansive. If you're staying nearby at The Sage Hotel , it's an easy day trip. Best to go in the morning when the light hits the mountains just right.
