Walking into the Luxor, you're in a 30-story black pyramid with a beam of light shooting from the top. This massive resort has rooms in both the pyramid and adjacent towers, plus a casino, bars, and a spa. The adults-only pool hosts a popular gay pool party in summer, and the steakhouse is widely regarded as one of the city's best. Blue Man Group performs here too.
The property feels dated, as recent reviews note, and the rooms are basic. But the location on the Strip is convenient, and you can walk indoors to Mandalay Bay or Excalibur. The Mexican restaurant Diablo's Cantina is a favorite for many regulars.

The Luxor feels outdated, but we always enjoy ourselves there. The rooms are unimpressive—more like a basic chain hotel—and the pool is terrible, but the casino and bars are lively, there's a Blue Man show, and Diablo's Cantina is one of our favorite Mexican spots. It's also very convenient to get to other hotels without stepping outside.

“Bugs luxor hotel”
I had bugs in my room, and on the first night the fire alarm went off at 5am. Room 15120, elevator 4b. The hotel is old; I wouldn't go back.

“Great location, comfortable room”
The location on the main strip is excellent. The staff are welcoming. It doesn't look as modern as the pictures suggest, but I still had a great time.

Avoid the pyramid rooms. There's black mold in the shower.
